Building a snow castle

Snow as a material has it own requirements. Because the suns rays have a strong influence on the durability of snow construction, the construction should be build to a shady place. The effect of the sun rays has been usually reckoned, but often even experienced building engineers forget the wind. The effect of the wind could be remarkable, especially when the weather is warm or when there's impurities in the air, like dust. Adverse effects of the wind can be prevented by careful site planning.

Good and thorough plans are very important. Drawings should be done on the scale of 1 to 25 (details 1 to 5), when they are accepted by the authorities. When planning the snow construction it's good to consider to reinforce it. Reinforcing will make the snow construction much stronger.
