Mini wheels

As much info on Mini wheels as one can handle!

The bolt pattern for Mini wheels is 4x101.6 (4in PCD). You could probably slam on 100mm wheels, but this is definately NOT recommended.

Original Minis came with 10in rims (as we all know). Later Minis changed to 12in to accomodate the 8.4in disk brakes. This happened in 1984, and since then all Minis have been like that. Sporty Minis use 13in wheels with low profile tires, but this requires modifications to the front wings.

You should be able to fit 14in wheels with ultra-low-profile tires as well (as shown in Mini Magazine a while back), but the problem occurs mostly at the back where the wheel will foul the radius arm. Tires must really be ultra-low prifile.

Someone actually put the wheels up on a bathroom scale, and measured how much they weight. They all came up at around 10kg, but Minilites where a bit lighter (by about 1-2kg). Keep in mind, bathroom scales are very inaccurate, and especially in the lower range.
