Ok, so 1600cc is the largest you can get out of the 1275 by boring to
74.7mm and stroking to 91mm. This was done by Autosprint of Livery
St., Birmingham some 25 - 30 years ago. So what's the deal, you hear
so little about this conversion - it must be unreliable and expensive.
( about like the pinto engine on the Mini Transmission - exploit the
weak link!)
Also in "Practical Motorist Magazine" some 25 years ago Vizard did a 1430cc EconoMini (RFX 605K) claiming 49.88 mpg around the USofA. Does anyone out there have a copy (Capt. Ken ??) of the the magazine(s) with the articles in them? I would like to get a copy of the articles if at all possible. I say magazines as I it spanned serveral issues as he drove around the US. I want to learn more about the 1430 as I believe it will be as reliable as the 1380cc. John in GA |
