Subject: TECH....the endfloat thing!
Camshaft endfloat - if the endfloat is too big the retaining plate is worn out or (unlikely) the face of the cam is! the retaining plate is sandwiched between the end face of the cam and the camshaft timing gear - the minimum space is dictated by the compressed clearance between the timing gear and the cam face when the locknut is done up, there is no way of shimming this

1) Primary gear endfloat - Washer - thrust primary gear between crankshaft primary gear and the crank

Part no Thickness
dam 6490 ,112-.114
dam 6486 .114-.116
dam 6487 .116-.118
dam 6488 .118-.120
dam 6489 .120-.122 inch
BTW 1000cc ones are different part numbers 22A xxx and DAM xxxx same sizes

2) Idler gear endfloat - fit idler into the transfer gear housing and fit housing to block torque up with gasket (in place onto inverted block)

Part No. Thickness
dam 5914 .13-.131"
dam 4822 .132-0.133
dam 4823 .134-.135
dam 4824 .136-.137
dam 4825 .138-.139
There you go Joe!
