These are my notes from an article by Keith Calver on instructions
according to Peter Calver.
Parts needed:
bracket 12G1053
pulley 12G1054
fan C37222A
belt GCB10825
- Disconnect battery
- Remove regulator box from car, carefully marking all connections.
- Remove dynamo, etc.
- Fit alternator, new bracket, and new belt.
- Dismantle regulator (use junk regulator if you have one). Remove
coils and contacts. Remove connections to blade terminals.
- Solder links between terminals A, A1, and D, connecting all three.
- Solder a link between terminals F and E.
- Reconnect loom to correct terminals-EXCEPT-connect ignition warning
light (brown/yellow) to terminal E.
- Connect alternator to loom: Large wire to large terminal (output),
and small wire to small terminal (sensing).
- Reconnect battery
If I recall these instructions assume use of Lucas alternator and
keeping pos(+) ground. If you convert to neg(-) ground, you need to
make sure battery is installed correctly and that the battery
connections at the ignition coil are correct.
Hope this helps.
