There is always been science fiction films (sci-fi). It is difficult to analyze typical features of sci-fi films (maybe only big fantasy), but they seem to follow or to be one step ahead development of the current technics. In early days sci-fi films stay on the earth with mad scientists or horrible mosters but today mankind has heavy battles with creatures of outer space.
